Big-T
Let’s not be in any doubt as to what the Big-T is all about. It’s big, it’s tough, it’ll take some serious stick and it’s built like a tank, but has the agility and the turning circle of a mountain goat. The main feature of the Big-T’s chassis is the One-Point-Five head tube allowing the use of a massive big hitting single crown fork. Couple that to what is probably the most overbuilt freeride frame in existence and you have on your hands, what is often known as, one tough ‘MF’ (We don’t need to spell it out, do we?).
With its low pivot position, the Big-T is the most active big-hit freeride bike we build. The front end and swingarm link via the unique welded Horiz-Hold pivot which laughs in the face of lateral flex.
Geometry is relaxed to allow the big, single crown Manitou Travis fork free reign over the toughest terrain. In short, the Big-T will give you Big-Grin.
What’s the deal with the One-Point-Five headtube?
Basically, it provides a dramatic increase in both stiffness and strength with minimal weight gains. The increased diameter improves control, steering precision and component durability. Using Orange monocoque frame construction technology with a One-Point-Five headtube enables us to make the strongest Downtube/Headtube joint in the industry.
Frankly, in use, it’s a revelation. You won’t believe that you’re not riding a triple clamp fork, until you come to that gnarly technical switchback dropping down a few rock steps. Where you’ll run out of steering lock with triple clamps, a burly single crown cleans it, leaving those big hitting forks to soak up the bumps as you blast down to the next one.
