Michael Bonney - Stay Strong!

Updated: Thursday 7th March.
As previously stated, Orange Bikes' Michael Bonney was severely injured in a cycling accident while taking part in the Eden Valley Epic Sportive on Sunday 3rd March. He received outstanding emergency medical treatment at the roadside and was transported to the Royal Victoria Infirmary in Newcastle by air ambulance.

At the RVI he was diagnosed with a broken neck and is undergoing treatment for this extremely serious injury and is making positive progress. Michael and his family have been overwhelmed by the incredible amount of heartfelt messages of support and would like to thank all his friends from the cycle industry and beyond for their ongoing encouragement.

Michael's road to recovery is going to be long and bumpy but he is tackling that with his legendary Geordie grit and determination. Today he has been moved to the spinal injury unit at the James Cook University Hospital in Middlesborough to receive specialist care for the next leg of this journey.

Original Post: Tuesday 5th March
On Sunday, Michael Bonney, the lynchpin in all that is Orange, had a terrible accident whilst road cycling during the Eden Valley Epic. No vehicles were involved.

He was airlifted to Newcastle hospital where he remains in a very critical condition.

As most of you will be aware, Michael is an extremely popular person with a huge amount of friends, and it's impossible to pass on this news individually. Linzi has already been inundated with best wishes and its impossible for her to reply individually, so as he is a big advocate to social media, and after speaking with Linzi, we will keep you up-to-date through our Facebook page.

The making of the Joe Barnes feature in Dirt Magazine.

Marketing man Pete trucked west on Sunday 30th September to collect MTBcut's enduro chief Joe Barnes from Liverpool Airport. Joe had literally landed back from the Mavic Trans Provence with sister Hannah before he was whisked north to yet another airport where Dirt Magazine's Steve Jones was waiting.

A fairly full van later and we were in Joe's stomping ground trying to capture him in his natural environment. The weather did its best to try and herd us off the mountain, but with only two and half days to make it count, we just had to grin and bear it.
