Team was formed in 2002. The intention was to create an elite
British team who could compete with the very best Adventure Race
teams in the World.
Since then the team has gone from strength to strength with some
very impressive performances on the World and Domestic stage.
The athletes have a very impressive background, including GB
International Fell Runners, International Mountain runners, GB
International Orienteers, and Mountain Bike race champions. It
is this diverse background of adventure sports, coupled with the
skills and knowledge of the management team (Tim Lloyd is ex-National
Olympic Ski Team Coach), that has created a force to be reckoned
with in the Adventure Race World.
The high points for Team Saab Salomon to date has to be winning
the 2003 World Cup Finals in New Caledonia last October and winning
the bronze medal at the 2004
World Championships in Patagonia. It
is hoped that this will give them the confidence to continue in
their winning ways in 2005, with the aim of becoming Raid World
Champions by the end of the year.
