Orange Bikes - Eurobike 2011

September 08 2011

The Orange Mountain Bikes van has just rolled back from an exciting trip to Eurobike. If you’ve been keeping up to date with the coverage you might have seen a few surprises from Halifax, from urban commuters to a full carbon road bike. Concepts and product reigniting our tarmac flame and continuing our reputation for practical design, innovation and exclusivity. Everything we do well, with a twist of diversification to keep things fresh…

The Orange Bikes stand occupied its usual spot, but with a few suprise additions...

The Orange road bike has come a long way since the Dynamo of 1993; boasting a carbon monocoque frame it slots in between the sportive and race scene, fast and lively but with enough stability and comfort for a full day in the saddle. In its finished livery it’s a graphical masterpiece with the ride feel and spec package punching above its weight brilliantly. High modulus, but balancing stiffness and compliance for maximum comfort, making it a great midpoint for those not wanting to fall too heavily into a category stand-off. The perfect mountain biker’s road bike?

The much anticipated return to the road scene, the Orange Carb-O...

Available mid-November and already causing a stir, we expect the 100 bikes to go quickly, in the shop and on the road… £1899

Pushing further into the world of the smooth, we had two urban bike concepts on the stand at Eurobike. The Sol-O is an Alfine equipped commuter with the Express-O providing a livelier flat barred road bike alternative: The Orange Bikes take on the world of the urban. More info next Spring.

The Express-O is a fast flat bar urban bike, for the commute or training miles...

The craze for 29ers hasn’t passed us by and while we’re not jumping on any bandwagons just yet, we’ve been covertly testing our hardtail and full suspension prototypes. The challenge for us? Building something different to the rest with the characteristic Orange handling that sets us apart. To say we’re impressed by how well they're riding would be an understatement…

The E9 hardtail is based around a 120mm fork, the perfect mix of XC flighty and trail ready stability. We’re not full 29er evangelists just yet, but for the right person and a broad range of terrain, these bikes are the perfect solution, expect more soon…

The E9 is our 120mm fork equipped take on the 29er...

The full suspension offering is typically Orange themed, with angles to keep things fun and flicky, but with all the benefits of big wheels. Way more fun than it should be, we’ll be pushing to have the 29er geometry dialled ready for Spring 2012…

The 100mm/120mm frame might look familiar, but it's all new...

To keep the gravity fans happy, we took along a full team replica 322 prototype, and with a production Cane Creek Double Barrel AIR on the Patriot, development in the downhill oriented market isn’t relenting.

The Orange Patriot might have just found its perfect shock setup, the CCDB air...

The 322 is still mid-development, Cathro's is larger than most...

So to all those who visited the stand or followed our progress on Facebook, thanks for your feedback and stay tuned for more development stories.

The best of the rest, the full 2012 range is now on the website...
