Orange Support The Development Enduro Team

February 27 2014

We're really pleased to announce that we will be supporting Angela Coates and Steve Foster, both riding for the North East based Development Team.
Both riders will be representing the team at Enduro races. With a fair amount of race pedigree between them we're sure of good results and good times with the pair.

We're looking forward to seeing what they get up to, both on the race track and off it and we'll be posting updates here, but to get up-to-the-minute news check out the team's website and Facebook page:

Here's a few words from Angie and Steve…

Angie:
"Ever since I started riding, way back when I was on a homemade Mr Big many, many moons ago I always fancied my chances on an Orange, there is just something about them. When I found out I was going to be competing on a Five Diva I couldn't have been happier, especially after riding a multi-pivot bike for so long and having to constantly change bearings I was definitely in need of something with no fuss, low maintenance and top speed.

After spending time slowly building it up over the new year I had been itching to get out on it and the first time I railed that corner at Hamsterley Forest I was blown away. The frame design combined with the bigger wheels and the slightly bigger frame which is much more suited for me makes it my dream machine. And did I mention the colour? Do I need to? It speaks for itself!

I'm incredibly happy to be on Orange and I never thought I'd find myself in this position, looking back at my first race all those years ago, seeing every other rider on an orange Orange and thinking to myself why is everyone on these bikes? Well now I know, they're not settling for second best!

Being a thoroughbred UK company makes it even better, to have something that is designed, tested and made in the UK is a rarity, it instills me with further confidence and I'm so pleased to be part of their process. Having just popped my bike's cherry with a fifth place at the Scottish Enduro Series opener in Fort William, I'm looking forward to piloting my Orange Five up onto the podiums.

27.5, don't look back!"

Steve:
"I'm absolutely over joyed to be riding on Orange frames for 2014, when I heard that the guys were on board with support I was ridiculously excited. Back in '97 I was aboard a gorgeous nickel finish P7 even back then there was a great sense of patriotic pride riding an Orange. Being built and designed right here in the UK is something I value for a number of reasons.

So here I am, coming straight into the 2014 season Five mounted and raring to tear up the enduro circuit. The new Five carries on the design's reputable legacy as a tremendous descending machine assisted with the reliability of its single pivot design, it has always stood out as one of the best no fuss race bikes. Combining the new 27.5" wheels with some relaxed geometry the bike feels at home on every style of track that I've ridden, it's simply so comfortable, flicking it through the pine needle covered chicanes is a breeze. I'm really looking forward to racing on the beast and representing such an iconic company. Thank you so much guys."
